About Breakara Demolition

A demolition contractor working across New York City. This is our Manhattan work.

How we work

Demolition is the trade where the damage you do not do is the thing worth paying for.

Anyone can take a wall apart. The skill is in knowing what is inside it before you start, what is holding the ceiling up, which pipe serves the apartment upstairs, and how five tons of material is going to get out of a building with one shared elevator and no back door.

That is where our planning goes. We would rather spend an extra hour on the walkthrough than discover the problem with a crew standing in your hallway on the clock.

What you can expect from us

A written scope before the work starts, so there is no argument later about what was included. A straight answer about what a job depends on, including the parts we do not control. And a space handed back swept and ready for whoever comes next.

We deal with your building directly, because managing agents and boards would rather talk to the contractor than have the requirements relayed through you.

  • A written, itemised scope before work starts
  • Your building's rules treated as part of the job
  • Common areas protected as standard
  • Dust contained at the source
  • The space left swept and ready for the next trade

Across New York City

Breakara Demolition works throughout the five boroughs. This site covers our Manhattan work.

It is the same business either way. If your job crosses the river, the same people take it on.

Questions people ask before they call

What kind of jobs do you take on?

Interior strip-outs and gut-outs, concrete and masonry removal, structural work at the scale that suits us, and the debris removal that goes with all of it. Residential and commercial both.

A single kitchen is normal work. So is a whole floor.

Do you handle the building side of it?

Yes. We deal with managing agents and boards directly, because they would rather talk to the contractor than have requirements relayed through you. Insurance certificates, alteration agreements, work-hour windows and elevator bookings are part of the job rather than something handed back to the customer.

What happens to my space at the end?

Swept and clear, with protection lifted and material gone, ready for whoever is coming next. If a fit-out crew is booked behind us, that is the state they need it in and it is what the scope says we hand over.
